Ungenita Swimming?
Ungenita Swimming?

I remember reading the book The Magic Of Believing. I wrote down that I wanted a Italian Villa with a pool in the backyard. It took about 6 years for it to come to fruition. I love having a pool & a hot tub especially. It’s great after intense workouts. So this is the funny part I grew up playing in the water at Biloxi Beach but never thought of swimming for exercise. You might ask why? I even modeled Swimsuits amidst the crashing waves but I never learned to swim. Deep down inside I was afraid & embarrassed. I didn’t want to learn later in life so I kept putting it off. I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to everything else but it’s time to face the last obstacle that I have set for myself. The fear of swimming. I am finally learning to swim this summer. What fears are holding you back? I can’t wait to let this one go.

Some consider swimming to be the best total body workout. Swimmer’s are always long & lean. I’m sure Olympic Champion Michael Phelps would agree that it provides the same results as walking and running, without adding stress to knees, ankles, legs and the back. A major benefit of swimming is the near weightlessness, which can help swimmers strengthen their shoulders and abdominal muscles. The exercise also strengthens the heart and helps decrease problems associated with diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure and allergies. Last but not least swimming can burn up to 1000 calories per hour. That along motivates me. How about you?
