So my friend Diane told me she had just finished hiking in Runyon Canyon. I thought how ironic I was there 2 days within the last couple of weeks. It was a beautiful hike. I couldn’t believe how sore I was. You know I’m serious about my workouts but this is one of the reasons I love doing a variety of workouts. When you constantly mix up your routine your body won’t plateau & you will achieve your goals a lot faster whether it be loosing body fat or weight.

Good Old Fashion walking is really good exercise. Many years ago I use to walk/jog around Lake Hollywood. I officially gave up walking/running in 2003 when I injured my I-T band while training for a marathon. It’s been long enough & my knee has healed so why not get to stepping. It improves your physical as well as mental health and the list of benefits from walking are infinite. Hiking is essentially walking that is considered to be one of the most perfect forms of exercise for your body. As much as I love going to the gym there’s nothing like being in nature. Mind-Freeing definitely…

Runyon Canyon
You can call me a scary cat. But many years ago I took a hike which is off the beaten path and it was a bit more rugged, and had several sections of steep elevation. It was definitely more difficult than I was expecting. I don’t know how I got through it but let me tell you it was nice to face my fear about ever going back. One day I’m going to have to take the route that challenged me beyond belief.
Many research findings and studies show that hiking is an excellent way to lose extra pounds and improve overall health. To improve overall health, you don’t necessarily need to do heavy and painful workouts. (UNLESS YOU’RE AN ADDICT LIKE ME) , if you could stick to a routine a few times a week you’d be on your way. According to the American Heart Association, it’s best to walk vigorously for 30 to 60 minutes 3-4 times per week. But even low- to moderate intensity walking can have both short- and long-term benefits. Similarly, According to Walking for Health, people “won’t find a better way to lose weight than walking.” The results will be more permanent and pleasurable than any diet or weight loss scheme. (Can’t get anymore direct than that) If you’re interested in learning more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, you can check out this informative sites at https://addictionrehabclinics.co.uk/blog/.
Put your walking shoes on & strut your stuff up the nearest hill. You will be glad you did. I know I am.
