I love Nike’s Slogan…Just Do It!. The only reason I have been able to consistently reach my goals are by persevering. Obstacles are temporary if you choose to find solutions to overcome them. Yes the world reflects an ugly picture today but you can paint a pretty one for your life. This is the new economy & I have seen some of the most diligent people emerge in 2008 & 2009. You can make the most of this through re-invention. Start something new. All the old habits got us to this place & in order to further propel ourselves we have to start something new. How about creating your own business?
Tony Robbins states “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped”. If you’ve recently received a pink slip be thankful for what you have & push forward. I think we’ve all learned that a job won’t bring us security. The only security we have is in ourselves. There are so many home based businesses emerging right now that you could start your own venture part-time while looking for a job. You must continue to believe in yourself during moments like this. If you’ve stopped dreaming, start dreaming again, use visualization & make a vision board. Let your imagination run wild. I ask if you could do anything you wanted and money was no object what would it be? That could very well be the birth of your own corporation. Do the research to see if you can segue it into a money making establishment.
I remember when the WGA (Writer’s Guild Of America) went on strike in 2007. I couldn’t work so I had to figure out if I was going to solely rely on the entertainment industry or if I was going to take control of my future. It was uncomfortable & a very challenging time in my life but I pushed through it & discovered that something else was lurking inside that I needed to share with the world. Today I have a life that I truly love because I’m making a living, living.
