The Beauty Of Structure

Mother Nature is the most beautiful thing on the planet but think about its structure. The sun rises & sets every day. The moon comes out & goes away. The seasons change every year. The sky is always blue. If only we could have the same structure in our own lives.

Do you think you could benefit from a structured lifestyle?

Do you think having your life in order would increase the quality of your life?

Do you think you would get more done if you knew exactly what to do?

The first step to bringing back the structure is having a clear & concise plan. So many times I see female entrepreneurs that lack a plan or direction. If you don’t know where you’re going, how can you navigate to get there? This creates confusion & frustration. It’s important to decide what it is that you want & follow up with action steps which are the second step to structured living. You’ve heard the saying; don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today. Get to moving so you can move forward in your life & business.

Take action to move forward. Here’s a bit of advice. Write out your “To Do List” the night before with 5 action steps you can take in the direction of your desired goal. In the morning design your day around accomplishing those tasks. You might be inclined to procrastinate. Let’s face it, there are things you like to do and things you have to do. No matter how much you try to ignore them, the things you have to do are always there waiting for you. Probably the biggest roadblock to having a structured lifestyle is procrastination. When you are more structured you work to get what’s in your best interest done. You understand that putting off projects & letting them pile up will never serve you. You understand the value of being congruent & in alignment.

Tic Toc Check The Clock

Look at the clock right now & think about how much you’ve done in the last hour or better yet think about what you should have done. If you’re running here, running there, running everywhere… and are still frazzled because you have nothing to show for it. It’s time to look at how you’re using your time. In order to have a more structured life you have to manage your time. This is critical for your personal & professional life as well as your health.

Time waits for no one. How well you use your time is up to you.  If your day is filled with unproductive tasks or income earning activities it’s totally your choice.  When you take control of how you spend your time you can achieve your goals and live in bliss. So, the third way to add structure to your life is being more efficient with your time. Furthermore, there’s a good feeling at the end of the day when you’ve accomplished those things you’ve set out to do.  You are more fulfilled because you have honored your commitments & have a clear direction to further propel yourself.

Structure applies to all areas of your life. There are 7 key areas that require attention so you can live a more structured life. When all of these areas are balanced you will feel more efficient & get a lot more done.

  • Career
  • Family
  • Social Life
  • Health/Nutrition
  • Physical Fitness
  • Recreation
  • Sleep/Relaxation/Rest

Every one of these is important, so you must prioritize how much time to spend in each area & how to best utilize the 24 hours in your day.  Time for work, time for play, time to eat, time to exercise, time to relax, family time, time for extracurricular activities…Structure is not meant to be boring but bringing back order to your life will only lead to more excitement. I can guarantee you that!

I was once described as a Drill Sergeant on the inside, Barbie on the outside. I find that quite funny actually but I must admit my life is pretty structured.  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t run my camp like the military but every day that I wake up it’s clear as day what I’m supposed to do and majority of time I’m pretty much on track & everything is happening on target.  I move fluidly with structure. I know what I want in life and I’m not easi ly influenced in any way by anything that will detract me from my goals.

If you want to live a more beautiful life add some structure!
